500+ cupcakes at the Hershey Lodge

Today was my single largest cupcake order to date. The Unico National group held a sports themed luncheon at the Hershey Lodge. 530 cupcakes on 53 tables along with a custom cupcake stand centerpiece for each table.

Mini sports pennants were on each cupcake stand.

Chocolate baseballs and footballs were placed on each cupcake.

The tables looked wonderful. A special thanks to Annie and Ira and his staff for helping me set everything up.

These amazing photos were taken by the very talented Thomas Beaman.

Elegant Wedding Dessert Table

This past Sunday was The JDK Group’s bridal open house. I was invited to create a wedding cake and dessert table design that you would see at an actual wedding. Many times my inspiration comes from color, theme, invitation or fabric. For this display, I decided to design the dessert table around the colors in the room. The peacock blue and lime green were the perfect inspiration.

I created custom tags with a little gem on them for a little bling.

I found a perfect runner at Crate and Barrel which looked amazing with the color palette I selected.

Kim with Edible Art, created these stunning cookies. They would be an incredible favor for guests. They are truly each a work of art.

More cookies by Kim.

Marshmallow pops with gold crystal sprinkles. Always a crowd favorite.

Gourmet cupcakes with flower blossoms in blue and green.

Using tall apothecary jars is a great way to create height in the presentation.

Another favorite treat are the chocolate dipped pretzels

A dessert table including a wedding cake is a great way to make your wedding reception a little more special. Amazing designers such as Amy Atlas in New York City and Sweet and Saucy Shop in California are just a couple of my favorite designers.

Kelly & Jason’s Wedding at The Riverdale Manor

I loved this wedding! Kelly and Jason were married and had their reception at The Riverdale Manor in Lancaster this past Friday. The color scheme included shades of tangerine and some green accents.

The monogram on the cake topper looked wonderful. The flowers on the cake emulated the floral print on the bridesmaid dresses which were just beautiful. The cake flavor was vanilla cake with mocha buttercream filling.

I love the flower petal orange cupcake liners we decided to order to go with the floral theme. They looked so pretty.

The cupcake flavors were vanilla cake with mocha buttercream frosting, chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream frosting, Nutty Monkey (banana cake with peanut butter buttercream frosting) and Lemon Drop (white cake with fresh lemon curd filling and vanilla buttercream frosting).

The beautiful florals were provided by Petals with Style in Lancaster.

Adorable lolipop favors for the under 21 crowd. Citrus infused vodka in personalized bottles were for the over 21 crowd.

It was wonderful working with Kelly and Jason. I wish you the very best in your new life together!

Tanya & Ron…Cork Factory Hotel

Today was Tanya & Ron’s wedding reception at one of my favorite venues, The Cork Factory Hotel. I love this venue because of it’s clean and chic look with a touch of rustic charm.

Tanya and Ron choose to have fresh flowers on their cake. The spider mums looked amazing cascading down the front of the cake along with the smaller mums, green berries and greenery. A small fondant monogram “t” and “r” were placed on the cake with a tiny mum in between the letters. The cake flavor was white cake with chocolate ganache and raspberry buttercream filling.

The escorts card were attached to homemade jars of jam. Yum!

Florals were provided by Petals with Style. Wedding coordination was provided by Mary Ann with The Bridal Emporium.

So what do you think of the groom’s cake? A combo of Ron’s favorite things…Star Wars, Chicago Bears and Dogfish Head Brewery. The cake was banana cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate buttercream filling.

After setting up the cakes, we had an amazing dinner at the Cork & Cap restaurant in the hotel. Everything was so delicious and the atmosphere was superb. I highly recommend it!

Congrats Tanya & Ron!

Andrew & Mariasol – Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center

I had to post pictures of today’s wedding using my new custom made cupcake tower. It looked amazing on the stage…so dramatic. Mariasol and Andrew had their wedding reception at the Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center. The venue is going to be opening an incredible reception area which will accommodate 800 people this fall. I can’t wait to see it when it’s complete.

The wedding colors were Tiffany blue and brown. Ivory sugar orchids topped the 2-tier cake topper.

There are so many possibilities decorating this stand. I added a blue ribbon accent, but including an amazing fabric band would be so pretty too.

Love the Tiffany blue flower.

The cupcake flavors were vanilla cake with honey cream cheese frosting, chocolate cake with chocolate hazelnut frosting and chocolate cake filled with chocolate ganache and topped with tiffany blue vanilla buttercream frosting.

The catering was provided by The JDK Group. David Everett did an amazing job making the buffet areas look so beautiful. Wedding coordination was provided by Susan Moran who is also with Weddings by JDK.

Don’t you love the the menu cards.

Congratulation Mariasol and Andrew!

Kristin & Craig’s Calla Lily Wedding Cupcake Tower

Last weekend I had the honor of being a part of Kristin and Craig’s wedding. Their reception was at the Mt. Holly Inn. The color scheme was lapis (deep purple) and calla lilies were the main flower in the florals. I added mini sugar calla lilies on the cake topper to match the floral arrangements on the tables.

The cupcake flavors were White cake with vanilla frosting, Marble cake with chocolate frosting
and Red velvet with cream cheese frosting.

What a great couple. I wish Kristin and Craig a wonderful new life together.

Stephanie & Rich’s Altoona Wedding

First of all, I have to say that Stephanie wins the award for the bride who traveled the most to see me. 2 tastings (driving from Altoona..2 hours each way) and picking up her bridal shower cake too. 3 trips to Harrisburg…quite dedicated and such an amazing and organized bride.

The cake design for her wedding cake incorporate lavender shades in her wedding colors. Cascading blossoms from dark lavender to white. It’s hard to see, but the cake has sparkly edible glitter dust all over it as well as Swarovski crystals dotted on the cake. Very pretty with the light hitting it. I’m working on my photographic skills, but the cake was a bit brighter than these photos show. I’ll get better 🙂

The cake flavor was white cake with a layer of raspberry jel filling and a layer of chocolate buttercream filling. Since the wedding was pretty big (250 guests), I provided additional cakes for cutting by the caterer in addition to the wedding cake which served 120. For a larger wedding, this is a great way to save on wedding cake costs, since the cutting cake is less expensive than going to the expense of making the wedding cake large enough to feed all the guests. The cutting cake has the same number of layers so no knows the difference. Another option would be to offer cupcakes in a pretty display.

Stephanie had an adorable Precious Moments cake topper which looked so cute on top of the cake. The reception was at the UVA Club in Altoona.

In addition to the cakes, we added 150 cookies to the enormous candy/cookie display. Kim with Edible Art created these adorable heart shaped cookies for me. Be sure to check out her beautiful work.

We provided cake pops and 100 marshmallow pops too!

The candy/cookie display was under a tent in the reception room with hanging lights above. it was huge. Wow…

Tons of candy everywhere.

Stephanie was amazing to work with. I wish her and Rich a wonderful new life together.
