Nicole & Ben’s Fall Wedding at The Peter Allen House

Last Saturday Nicole and Ben were married at The Peter Allen House in Dauphin. As the leaves begin to start turning their beautiful fall colors, it was so appropriate to incorporate fall leaves in different colors on the cupcakes.

The cake topper included their monogram and a few maple leaves.

The cupcake flavor were dark chocolate cake with almond buttercream frosting, vanilla cake with raspberry buttercream frosting, dark chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting and red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

As always, it is a pleasure working with The JDK Group. Wonderful catering, beautiful florals, table design and linens.

The escort card table was beautiful.

Congratulations Nicole and Ben!

Patriot News Article: Experts share cupcake tips in time for the Harrisburg Cupcake Cup

Great article by Sue Gleiter in today’s Patriot News on cupcake making tips and the Harrisburg Cupcake Cup competition this Sunday at the Midtown Scholar Bookstore in Harrisburg. It’s a great charitable event benefiting the Central PA Food Bank. Canned food donations or a $2.00 contribution is requested in exchange for a yummy cupcake.

As the 2009 professional division champ, I think I’ll be bringing my “A” game on Sunday. Click here to read the full article on Penn Live.

Feature in Sept Issue of Cake Central Magazine

Here are the actual page spreads from the September issue of Cake Central Magazine. I’m very honored to have my work on 5 pages 🙂 The adorable cookies are by local cookie designer Kim Barrett with Edible Art.

Another design in the same issue. Thanks again to Thomas Beaman for his help in taking the wonderful photos. (click images to enlarge)

Jodi & Steve’s wedding honoring breast cancer awareness

It was such an honor to be a part of Jodi and Steve’s wedding celebration last weekend. When I met with them at our initial consultation they said they wanted to honor family and friends who have had breast cancer. They used pinks and whites and even incorporated the pink ribbon logo in their reception decor.

I wrapped the cupcake stands with paper with the pink ribbon logo.

The 250 cupcake flavors were red velvet, chocobutter, nutty monkey and vanilla cake with Oreo frosting.

I even found some sprinkles with the ribbon logo mixed in.

Congratulations to a wonderful couple!

Published in Wedding Style Magazine

I’m very excited to share that the wedding cake and dessert table I designed for Dana and Michael Cox’s wedding was featured in this past Sunday’s Patriot News Wedding Style Magazine.

The following are some additional photos from the wedding. Click here to see my blog post on the wedding.

Here is a link to see the entire magazine on Penn Live.

Baby Shower Cake

This cake was so much fun to design. I was given the link to the baby bedding design and was asked to create a cake using the bedding as the theme.

Birds, branches and flowers…

The cake flavor was the always popular chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream filling.

Here is the bedding pattern that was the inspiration. No pink background because no one knew it was going to be a girl 🙂

Erin & David’s Fall Sunflower Wedding

What a great day for an outdoor wedding reception. Erin and David’s reception was at the beautiful Peter Allen House. Erin was incorporating sunflowers in her florals, so we decided to include large sugar sunflowers on the cake topper.

The flower blossoms on the cupcakes were sage green, a berry purple and sunflower yellow and the cupcake flavors were vanilla vanilla, chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream frosting.

Congratulations to Erin & Mark!

Preppy Sweets Table for Cake Cental Magazine

I was honored when the Leanne Winslow president of Cake Central Magazine invited me to create something for a feature on preppy cake designs. Since I love doing dessert tables, I asked if I could submit more than just a cake. Amazing photographer, Thomas Beaman, who I share my studio space with, was kind enough to take these wonderful photos which appear in the Sept. issue.

I purchased the cupcake wrappers at Michael’s. The colors and design were just right.

Mixing different fabrics is something that adds interest to the table design. I always try to use 3 main colors together.

I decided to do an argyle print on the cake to tie in with the preppy theme.

The beautiful cookies were made by my friend Kim with Edible Art. She also got a full page shot of her cookies!

The alligator ribbon with the rhinestone accent was just right.

Thanks again to Cake Central Magazine for including me in their fabulous magazine. In addition to this table design I also have another cake and dessert table design in the magazine.
