Goth Wedding Cake

Yes…a goth wedding. I actually love this cake. The wedding colors were black and red and the bride requested a corset incorporated on the cake. The bottom tier is draped with black fondant to look like leather. The cake was dark chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. This photo was taken before I added a pool of blood on the top of the cake dripping down the front….for real 🙂 The reception was at the Holiday Inn West.

Sarah’s Hershey Wedding

I had the honor of creating this cake for the most beautiful reception at the Hershey Lodge. The tables where covered with a black tablecloth with a white cut out linen overlay. It looked just amazing.

The cake was white cake with raspberry buttercream filling.

Lavender sugar roses and Swarovski crystals dotted the thin shimmery fondant stripes. Pin lighting really made the crystals sparkle.

The florals were designed by one of my favorite florists. Stacia with Petals & Beans does AMAZING work. The bright colors just popped against the black and white linens.

Alissa & Pat’s Wedding

I met Alissa (the bride) at one of my Fun with Fondant cake decorating classes. She had so much fun, she took it again! She is so sweet and is going to be attending pastry school soon and hopes to be making wedding cakes for couples in the future too. Alissa and Pat first met line dancing and it continues to be a big part of their lives together. They wanted to incorporate the line dancing western theme in their wedding cake.

The cake flavors were carrot cake with vanilla buttercream filling and Nutty Monkey (banana cake with peanut butter buttercream filling).

The white flowers add that wedding feel.

The wedding was this past Saturday at their home in Wrightsville right next to the river. They are avid kayakers, so this little groom’s cake was a tribute to that.

Thank you so much for having me be a part of your amazing day!! Congrats Alissa and Pat. You are both wonderful.

Audra & Lee’s Wedding

Yesterday and I had the pleasure of creating an amazing wedding cake for Audra and Lee. The reception was held at the beautiful Hershey Lodge. The wedding colors were ivory and lavender and the cake fit perfectly with the decor of the banquet room. The cake served 200 and the flavors were dark chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and peanut butter buttercream filling and white cake with vanilla buttercream and raspberry buttercream filling. It was a big cake!

I am also very excited to announce that The Couture Cakery has been selected to be the official provider of wedding and celebration cakes for the Hershey Lodge. I’m so looking forward to working with Ira Task and his amazing staff.

The bride and groom provided a beautiful Lenox cake topper for the cake.

The amazing florals were designed by Blooms by Vickrey in Camp Hill.

Colette & John’s Wedding Reception

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of creating this cupcake tower for Colette and John’s post wedding celebration. They got married in Las Vegas and decided to have their wedding celebration with their family and friends at the Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg. They actually live in North Carolina, so everything was arranged via email before the event. Thank goodness for the internet!

Beautiful gerber daisies were brought from New Jersey and I popped a few on the cupcake stand base.

The cupcake flavors were Vanilla Vanilla, Chocobutter (chocolate cake filled with chocolate ganache and topped with peanut butter buttercream), and red velvet cake with vanilla buttercream frosting.

Beach Theme Wedding Cupcake Tower

This was a fun cupcake tower to create. Cherie and her new husband got married and just returned from their honeymoon from the Caribbean. They had a celebration after their trip with family and friends this past Saturday. Since they were at the beach, they wanted a cupcake tower with a beach theme.

Edible starfish and seashells were part of the cake topper and cupcake decoration. After making each one, I did some hand painting to create dimension on each shell.

I decorated the base of the stand with real sand and shells…just to make it a little more beachy.

The cucpake flavors were. Cafe Mocha (dark chocolate cupcake filled with chocolate ganache and topped with mocha frosting), Lemon Drop (white cake filled with fresh lemon curd and topped with vanilla buttercream frosting) and 24 Carrot (carrot cake topped with honey cream cheese frosting).

Lauren’s Shower

One of my very special brides Lauren had a shower thrown for her today by her wonderful bridesmaids and mom. I had so much fun putting this “bow” inspired cake & dessert table together for the event. It was all about the bow. (click on images to enlarge)

The theme colors were pink and green which coordinate with her wedding colors. She’s going to have a cake at every table for the wedding…20!

White chocolate dipped pretzel rods were sprinkled with pink non pareils and wrapped for guests to take home as favors.

White chocolate dipped marshmallows.

Mini white cupcakes with almond buttercream frosting and a little almond sliver on top.

Mini pink meringue cookies.

Lauren the adorable bride to be.

Iced shortbread cookies.

The bow inspired cake was chocolate cake filled with chocolate ganache and chocolate buttercream filling.

Lauren and her beautiful mother Mary.

The bridesmaids…all so pretty!

What a wonderful shower. Can’t wait for the wedding!
