Braelyn’s 1st Birthday Elmo Party

Braelyn celebrated her 1st birthday on Sunday and I was so excited to
make this Elmo cupcake tower for her birthday party.

Elmo was a lot of fun to make. He’s made out of fondant and is sitting on a
vanilla cake covered with vanilla buttercream.

I placed some of the cupcakes on cake plates flanking the
cupcake stand with little paper cut out toppers I created.

Elmo is proudly announcing that the cupcake flavors are chocolate cake with
vanilla buttercream frosting and vanilla cake with vanilla frosting.

Happy 1st birthday Braelyn!

Eric’s Bar Mitzvah at the Blue Ridge Country Club

I had the pleasure of creating a cupcake tower for Eric’s Bar Mitzvah at the Blue Ridge Country Club in Harrisburg. It was quite an event with amazing decorations, professional entertainers and more.

The theme was “Lucky 13”. The logo designed for the party was the inspiration for the cupcake tower and display. The colors I used were lime green, silver and black.

The fondant decorations on the cupcakes included Eric’s initials and stars with 13 on them.

The cupcake flavors included banana cupcakes with chocolate frosting, chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting and carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.Instead of a cake toppers, I created a sign with the logo to complete the cupcake tower.

As always, it was a pleasure working with Conrad with Blue Ridge.

Dreamers Into Doers Trip at Martha Stewart HQ

I’m finally getting around to doing a blog post on my amazing trip to Martha Stewart HQ in New York City last week for the Dreamers Into Doers two day event. Dreamers Into Doers is an online community created by Martha Stewart for women who are turning their dreams into careers they love. I was one of the 80 lucky women from across the country who had the opportunity to attend this fantastic meeting.
As you know, I love designing dessert tables. It was great meeting the amazing ladies behind some of my favorite party inspiration blogs. Tanya with Save The Date for Cupcakes (left) and Courtney with Pizzazzerie (middle) post creative party ideas daily, so be sure to check them out.

Day one started with a beautiful breakfast at Martha’s HQ overlooking Chelsea Pier. Her offices encompass two floors of an entire New York block. I’ve never seen so many Macs! I was in heaven. The designers all work in open spaces creating designs for the various magazine, textiles and products. Design ideas are posted on every vertical space available (of course very nicely). It’s such a creative environment…just amazing.

After breakfast we had the opportunity to hear from several top executives including Gael Towey, chief creative and editorial director of MSLO (top left) and Terri Trespicio, senior editor, Whole Living Magazine (top middle). Very inspiring!

During our first fantastic lunch, Terri Shapiro, executive director, brand media relations for Deluxe Corporation (top right) talked about entrepreneurship, marketing and building a brand.

After lunch, Brenda Dargan and Marc Ganem from Martha Stewart Living (middle left and middle) talked to us about technology, social media and blogging and Danielle Leveal from Etsy shared about the growth of their company. The last speakers for day one included Martha Stewart and Susan Soloman, co-founder and CEO of the NY Stem Cell Foundation. Susan is such an inspiring woman. She started the foundation with the dream of someday finding cures to diseases such as diabetes. As you can imagine, everyone was so excited to see Martha.

On day two, the luncheon speaker was Maria Otero with the Women’s Venture fund and later we got to see and sample a cooking demo by Sarah Casey, food editor for Martha Stewart Living.

We were treated to beautiful gourmet lunches each day. As you would expect everything during the two days was perfect.

There were so many amazing women I met who had either started their own businesses or were running charitable organizations. I had so much fun hanging out with Melissa and Kellie with Icing Designs who create stunning handmade party invitations. Rachel Gaffney who actually originated the first get together last year was so helpful to me too. It was great to meet Jennifer Bunce with the Hudson Cakery to talk a little cake talk too! And I’m looking forward to working with Annette with Biscuits by Lambchops who makes gourmet doggie treats. And so many more ladies!

I’m a huge fan of TomKat Studio and was thrilled to meet Kim. I’m sure you will be seeing her on her own design show soon. She creates the most adorable party printables and stunning table designs. Be sure to to visit her blog at TomKat Studio. On Monday night a group of us went to dinner and Kim gave each of us a bag of adorable goodies including a Whippy Cake headband..love it!, a Lisa Leonard necklace, a cupcake cookie made by The Cookie Jar and a pocket mirror.

On Wednesday, we went to a taping of the Martha Stewart Show which was a blast.

One of the segments was on these amazing Japanese floral arrangements.

Martha and Joey make an amazing team.

It was an experience I’ll cherish. It’s nice to know that so many other women are doing their dream job while trying to juggle family, home and work…just like me! Martha Stewart is certainly an inspiration of what you can do if you dream it. Thank you Caitlin Losey at Martha Stewart for organizing this amazing event!

Be sure to check out the Dreamers Into Doers website!

Lots of jumbo cupcakes!

On Sunday Phoenix Contact had a big opening night reception for their
conference at the Hershey Lodge. They wanted something special to give to each
attendee at their dinner reception. Everyone received an individually boxed jumbo
cupcake with the conference logo in the side with a logo cookie on top of each cupcake.

Kim with Edible Art made the 240 cookies. They looked awesome.

Their company logo includes a lime green, so I purchased coordinating
organza ribbon to tie on each box.

Here they all are! All 240 boxed and ready to deliver.
Thank to Kim, Zara and Annie for their help in making this come together.

Emily’s Monkey Princess 7th Birthday

Today Emily celebrated her birthday at Monkey Joes inflatable playground
in Camp Hill. The request was a monkey theme with a little bit of princess.

I love the cupcake wrappers I found at the grocery store. Can you believe it?

A little tiara on the monkeys added the perfect princess touch 🙂 The cupcake flavors were vanilla cake with vanilla frosting and chocolate cake with vanilla frosting.

Happy birthday Emily!

Erika & Nick’s Wedding Sweets Table

Last night I had the honor of creating a sweets table and wedding cake for Erika & Nick at the Riverdale Manor in Lancaster. The color theme was a deep purple and silver. The homemade goodies included rice crispy pops dipped in chocolate, cheesecake pops, regular and mini size cupcakes, chocolate cake pops, chocolate dipped pretzels and brownie bites.

The candy selection included grape jolly ranchers, grape skittles, grape sour drops, silver gum balls, grape stick candy. I purchased special cupcake liners with a grey swirl print and various purple and silver liners too. They looked very pretty on the display.

The wedding flowers were beautiful handmade creations by Jilliann’s Flowers which Erika discovered on Etsy. I love the inspiration board Erika created to give me an idea of the theme and feel of her wedding.

I will do another post later on the wedding with the cake photo. I can’t wait. The wedding was photographed by the amazing team of Tony and Amy Hoffer of Hoffer Photography. You should definitely check out their website…amazing work.

70th Birthday Cake

I love getting emails from people all over the country who need a cake for a special
event in Central PA. Terri from Georgia called me and requested a special cake for her
mom’s birthday. She flew in and I met her and her sister before the celebration in
Shippensburg this past weekend. We coordinated everything via email. Colors..design..
to get the exact look she wanted.

A big bow on top with a happy birthday tag.

The two tier gift box cake was a pretty salmon pink with white
flowers and one green butterfly.

The cake flavors were vanilla cake with rapsberry buttercream filling and
chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream filling.

I love it when clients send me emails after they receive their cakes.
Here’s what Terri had to say.

“Just wanted to thank you again and let you know that your creation was the
talk of the party! People wanted to know where we got “the most beautiful cake”
they had ever seen! Needless to say you where a big hit….Thanks again Jasmine!

Calla Lilly Winter Wedding Cake

My first wedding cake of the year! A cally lilly wedding cake for a beautiful
reception at the Hershey Lodge this past Saturday. I couldn’t resist taking these
photos with the snowy background.

The cake included a chocolate brown band with crystal accents.
Sugar calla lillies were also part of the design which tied in with the bride’s bouquet.
The cake flavors included vanilla cake with chocolate hazelnut and chocolate ganache
filling and also red velvet cake with honey cream cheese filling.

Congratulations Carole & Shawn!

Mechanicsburg Library 50th Anniversary Celebration

I had the pleasure of providing cupcakes for the 50th anniversary
celebration at the Mechanicsburg library yesterday.

The color theme included gold, so each of the flower blossoms on
the cupcakes had a gold dragee pearl in the center.

Instead of a cake, I did a small floral arrangement with a 50 on top.

The cupcake flavors were a chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream
frosting and vanilla cupcake with strawberry buttercream frosting.
