Retirement Cake

This is a retirement cake I did last week. The client requested papers scattered all over and the retiree working at her desk. It was a lot of fun to make. The cake flavors were vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream filling and dark chocolate with peanut butter buttercream filling.

Girl’s Night Out Cake Decorating Class

I just wanted to share some photos from my Girls Night Out Decorating with Fondant class at the Cornerstone Culinary Kitchen last week. Once again, it was a blast. I’ll be doing a holiday theme class in early December and will post details soon. I’m just amazed at how creative everyone was in decorating their cakes!

Modern Wedding Cake

This is a cake and coordinating cupcake stand I made this Saturday. The reception was at the Officer’s Club in Mechanicsburg. The cake was covered with buttercream and the 4-tier cake flavors were spice cake with caramel buttercream filling, chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercram filling, white cake with raspberry buttercream filling and marble cake with chocolate hazelnut buttercream filling. Swarovski crystal teardrops and fresh roses adorned the top.

Wedding Cupcake Tower

So this Saturday I had two incredible cupcake weddings. This wedding was at Felicita and was coordinated by the very talented Susan Moran with V&M Wedding Concepts and the flowers were designed by Blooms by Vickrey. The accent color was eggplant. I decided to try something a little different by creating 2 flanking cupcake stands next to the large tower. I loved how this turned out. The 200 cupcake flavors were red velvet with cream cheese frosting, vanilla cupcakes with strawberry buttercream frosting, vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting and dark chocolate cupcakes with Oreo frosting.

Birthday Dessert Table Design

I’ve been dying to do a dessert table design after seeing the incredible work of Amy Atlas who is an event designer in New York City. In addition to the cupcake tower, I also made royal iced cookies, chocolate dipped pretzels, white chocolate dipped marshmallows on a stick, muddy buddy mix and chocolate covered cake balls on a stick. I selected the theme colors of chartreuse and black and designed a logo for the party which I incorporated throughout. It was a blast putting it all together and it would be perfect for a wedding or party. I hope I get a chance to do more of this in the future. (Click on an image to enlarge.)
