Decorating with Fondant Cake Class

Here are some photos from the fondant class I taught last night at the Cornerstone Culinary Kitchen in Camp Hill. It was sooo much fun! All of the ladies were incredible decorators and they created gorgeous cakes. The wine, coffee, cupcakes and company were great!

I will be teaching another decorating class at the Cornerstone Culinary Kitchen on Tuesday, June 23rd (6:30-8:30) so please call 717-909-6854 if you are interested in attending. Space is limited, so sign up soon.

The Knot Event Cupcake Tower

Last week I attended an event hosted by The Knot for wedding professionals at the Whitaker Center. I was asked to create a cupcake tower for the event, so I designed a stand with their logo and made flowers in The Knot colors to match. It was a great evening of networking and meeting other professionals. Of course all my brides or “Knotties” out there are familiar with The Knot, but those of you not getting married, probably have no idea what it is. The Knot is the premiere wedding website for brides. I have an ad on their site and if you’d like to visit it, click here. If you are one of my brides, I’d love for you to do a review online after your wedding. My goal for next year is to get into “The Best of the Knot 2010” annual publication.

This Thursday is my Decorating with Fondant class at the Cornerstone Culinary Kitchen in Camp Hill. I’m really excited that 19 people have signed up for the class. It is going to be a lot of fun. If you are interested in attending a future class, let me know.

Sarah & Rich’s Wedding

This is a cupcake tower I did on May 16th for Sarah and Rich. I had such a great time working with Sarah. Her colors were really beautiful. They were eggplant, ivory, deep blue and silver. The cake topper included a pretty magnolia flower to coordinate with her bouquet. The 150 cupcake flavors were, chocolate cake filled with chocolate ganache and topped with Oreo buttercream frosting, white cake filled with fresh lemon curd topped with vanilla buttercream frosting, red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and nutty monkey (banana cake topped with peanut butter frosting). The reception was at the Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg, PA. They have a beautiful private banquet facility upstairs.

Here’s what Sarah had to say:
Thank you for everything! Everyone couldn’t stop talking about the cupcakes and how amazing they were. I told every woman at the wedding to create an account on The Knot so they could write a review of your business, because I know I certainly will be! The flowers that you made for the cake were absolutely gorgeous and they tasted great too. I will absolutely recommend you to everyone I know. You were one of the best people I’ve ever worked with.

Butterfly Cupcake Tower

This is a cupcake tower I did for a wedding this past weekend at the Allenberry Resort & Playhouse in Boiling Springs. I incorporated the bride’s colors of teal and bright pink. Butterfly accents were part the of the theme. The flowers on the cake topper were all handmade sugar flower tulips and gerber daisies. The cupcake flavors were yellow cake with vanilla buttercream; chocolate cake filled with chocolate ganache and topped with chocolate buttercream; and white cake filled with fresh lemon curd and topped with vanilla buttercream.
