I’m so excited to announce that I won 1st place again in this year’s Harrisburg Cupcake Cup for the 2nd year in a row. There were 14 entries in the professional division and the cupcakes all looked amazing!
I knew there would be some serious competition this year and wanted to do something different than the chocolate cupcake that I entered last year. I decided to create a ramped up version of my favorite Lemon Drop cupcake. My entry was a white cake with shortbread cookie crust on the bottom. Fresh lemon curd filling. Topped with a dollop of sweet traditional buttercream and on top of that a generous amount of Madagascar vanilla swiss meringue buttercream frosting. I decorated the cupcake with a lemon French macaron cookie and sugar butterfly and flowers.
